The Think Tank Antidote V2 is my new accrued bag specifically used to pack my gear for wedding shoots and location shoots. Normally for wedding shoots, I would grab the Think Tank Modular system and the pro speed belt to carry my gear with me. If you need to change lens on the go, you can’t bet a good belt system. The modular pouches are very versatile, they are slightly padded and collapsible if you need to chuck them in your back pack for transportation and then put them on once you are ready to shoot.

What I need additional to this versatile belt system is a large carrier for all of  my gear to travel with me before the shoot. Ideally, I want a large back packs or rolling bags to fit all my gear and then I would unpack them  to the modular system before the shoot. I have the options to choose from the Think Tank airport series which is good if you have tremendous amount of gear to carry. However, I only have a medium amount of gear that I use for weddings and portraits, so I picked the smaller Think Tank Antidote V2 .  It is a back pack but it looks and carries like a suitcase.

What I love about the Think Tank Anitdote is that it has a side handle which you can lift/carry the bag horizontally. It feels more comfortable carrying the bag this way when it is loaded up.

The Think Tank Antidote comes with an Artificial Intelligence 15 laptop case which fits nicely in the front pocket.

If the laptop case is not being used, the front pocket is bellowed so you can fit bulkier items like chargers. What I have here is a 80cm reflector which fits nicely in the front pocket. The bellowed front pocket is also a great storage for collapsed modular pouches and  pro speed belt; this way you can keep everything at one place.

The top of the bag has the usual Think Tank business card holder, as well as a zippered pocket suitable to put your passport, wallet, pixel rocket, etc.

On the side it has a stretch pocket for water bottles and tripod. The webbed loop on the side can be used to secure a tripod by using the supplied accessory straps.

The inside flap has see-through laminated PU mesh pockets for your accessories like filters, batteries, memory cards, etc.

So here is the ultimate question, what can you fit in the Think Tank Antidote V2? Quite a lot, everything I need for wedding shoots and location shoots. I have managed to fit these in the bag.

  • Nikon D700+MB-D10
  • Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 (attached)
  • Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8
  • Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII
  • Nikon 24mm f/1.4
  • Nikon 50mm f/1.4
  • Nikon 85mm f/1.4
  • Nikon SB-700 (underneath) and SB-900

For all my other accessories like Pocket Wizards, LED light panels, I put them in the Speed Changer and attached it to the Think Tank Antidote V2. . I also like to store the collapsed modular pouches in the bellowed front pocket, that way I have the modular system and my gear under one carrier. With this setup the Think Tank Antidote V2 is great acting as a large carrier, I can have everything packed in one place and then just “grab one bag and go” which saves a lot of time when you are in a wedding or working in rough places.

For lighter travel, I am all in for  the Think Tank Retrospective 10, or if you need something bigger, try the Think Tank Retrospective 20.

For longer distance trips, I use the Think Tank Street Walker Pro which carry a bit less but it is easier on your back and more suitable if you are shooting in an urban and crowed environments. Here is a size comparison between the Think Tank Street Walker Pro and the Think Tank Antidote V2.

So there you have it, three Think Tank camera bags that I use for my day to day work.
